The Sentinel is exceptionally durable, but still lightweight. The Sentinel features less wire than other 2-wire kits, one wire leaves the radio and runs to a microphone push-to talk unit; the earpiece wire attaches at the microphone/push to talk unit. This earpiece must be clipped near the lapel, in law enforcement applications usually to the vest. The second wire runs under the shoulder to the back of the neck. As with all Law Enforcement applications, it is best to run the wires under the uniform clothing to give suspects less to grab hold of.

The audio quality for the Sentinel Law Enforcement Earpiece is excellent and works well in a variety of conditions. The Sentinel features a large PTT that can be found easily in the most difficult circumstances. The wide flat Mic/PTT housing clips securely to your vest and lies flat so it is not easily displaced and can be pressed from the front without having to grab hold of the unit.

An added bonus for users of the Motorola XTS and MTS series of radios is that the earpiece ships with a separate PTT on the adapter that is fixed to the radio. This allows you to maintain a good defensive posture by allowing you to key up with your hand at your side instead of in front of your chest.

The Sentinel is very durable. Though the wire diameter is smaller than some Law Enforcement earpieces, the durability is greater because of the Kevlar reinforced PU cable. As with all Custom Earpiece products, the Sentinel features a one year "no questions asked" warranty against failure.
